Blessed Karl of Austria Retreat: 100th Anniversary of the end of WWI—Dissolution of a Catholic Empire

Members of the Blessed Emperor Karl of Austria League in Kansas City, Missouri, will celebrate their second annual retreat in August. Fellow devotees of the saintly husband and father, and last reigning Emperor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire will have the opportunity to spend 3 days learning more about his life and reign over diverse peoples in one of the most challenging periods of history.
The scheduled events include spiritual, temporal, and social activities. In order to minimize expenses, benefactors have provided for a cocktail reception Thursday, guest speakers, conference space, light breakfasts, and a birthday celebration for Bl. Emperor Karl on Friday evening. Guests are responsible for accomodations, museum tour ($10), lunches and dinner on Saturday evening.
We are honored to have Canon Francis Xavier Altiere, Rector of Old Saint Patrick Oratory, as our chaplain for the retreat and to accompany us throughout the weekend events.
