Welcome to Member Guide: our all-in-one place for information on being a Member of the League of Prayer—the Gebetsliga. If you’ve wondered what prayers you should say or are looking for tips to better engage your Membership, this page has them.
Following Blessed Karl’s example, Members…
League of Prayer Member Duties
Members are called to live a life attuned to Sacrifice, God’s Will, and the Pursuit of Peace. With these in mind, Members promise to do four simple duties:
-
Members are invited to pray one of the Beatification prayers each day. You may also pray any of the additional League Prayers. By praying one, or any, of these prayers, Members are spiritually united to countless others around the globe.
-
In addition to praying the Mass with an engaged mind and heart, the faithful also actively participate by joining (offering up) our own sacrifices and intentions.
Members of the League are invited to offer one Mass intention each month for the work of the League and the intercession of Blessed Karl.
Just as the priest offers the Holy Sacrifice for a particular intention, we, too, can offer it for a personal intention. To do so is to apply the infinite, redeeming Blood of Jesus Christ to a particular cause.
The place in the Mass where this traditionally happens is Offertory, which immediately follows the Prayers of the Faithful. The bread and wine are brought to the altar, and the priest begins the preparation and blessing of the gifts. When he uncovers the paten, we can mentally place our intentions on the host’s paten to be offered up.
-
Members are invited to attend the annual Feast Day Mass, League sponsored Masses and lectures, and other events throughout the year. Members may also wish to make the annual peace pilgrimage organized by the international Gebetsliga. All of these events offer a unique opportunity to meet and connect with other Members. For a complete Calendar of events, visit our events page.
-
Promoting Blessed Karl’s Cause is a invitation for Members of all backgrounds to engage their Membership and get creative. Priest Members may offer a weekly Mass. If you lead your parish’s food pantry, you may work to place it under Blessed Karl’s patronage. Promoting the Cause may be as simple as giving a prayer card to someone who is sick. Members are invited to discern the daily ways in which Blessed Karl’s life and witness can be promoted.
Make a donation.
The League of Prayer does not charge Membership dues, but generous freewill donations by Members and faithful alike make events, speakers, and special Masses possible. Donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Reporting Favors
Members are called to encourage the faithful to report any favors received through Blessed Karl’s intercession. Medical and physical healings are especially important to report since they are most likely to be judged miraculous under strict Vatican guidelines. All favors help the Cause to better appreciate Blessed Karl’s intercessory activity.
