Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church invites you to their annual Divine Liturgy for Blessed Karl. Founded in 1920, by Western Ukraine immigrants from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Descent of the Holy Spirit Church has become a thriving parish that reflects peoples of varied ethnic backgrounds who have been drawn to the church through the beauty of its Byzantine-Ukrainian heritage.
The celebration of Blessed Karl begins with the Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m. followed by a brief presentation on his life with a light luncheon.

On First Friday, September 7, 2018, Fr. Andriy Krip, pastor, dedicated a shrine to Blessed Karl at Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church in South Deerfield, MA. A first-class relic was formally enshrined during the Moleben to the Theotokos (Mother of God) which was followed by the Divine Liturgy. The Molieben (from Church Slavonic Mol'ba - prayer, supplication) is a short liturgical service centered on a particular need or occasion—the new year, a journey, an illness, or, in this instance, an act of thanksgiving for the new shrine to Blessed Karl.
Descent of the Holy Spirit is a small, yet active Eastern Catholic parish located in the quiet town of South Deerfield, in the Pioneer Valley of north-western Massachusetts. Devotion to Blessed Karl has grown over the years and the new shrine gives testimony to the community’s faith in his intercession.
